Sleep Eludes us When We Most Need it.

Most people say to me, they would give anything to have a good night's sleep, but are they prepared to: give up going to bed late, turn off laptops, i-pads, phones, T.Vs, eliminate all tech gear from their bedrooms, not eat snacks or drink alcohol or smoking after 6-8pm, and let themselves surrender to sleep without worrying over things.

 Sleep is one of, if not, the most important way of rejuvenating our bodies. There are so many people that are not getting a full restful sleep. Contrary to what some people think, (REM sleep), where dreams are made, is not the most healthy sleep. The best sleep, is the space spent resting between dream states. According to New Health Advisor, adults 18 and older only need anywhere from 1.5-1.8 hours of deep sleep (REM) per night, which is about 20% of your overall sleep. So many of us have bad habits of getting to sleep very late, and finally dropping into deep sleep, only to wake up feeling like we have been running full on through our dreams, and feeling exhausted when we finally wake up in the morning. Dreaming is our subconscious' way of dealing with our "stuff", which if we are worrying, have anxiety during our waking hours, this can be exacerbated by too much REm state sleep.

Hypnosis is a very powerful modality in helping decrease anxiety, worrying and can help promote easier healthier sleep states.
